1947-10 Carlton Bank Robbery 1.jpeg
October 16, 1947
THE CARLTON STATE AND SAVINGS bank was robbed of $11,345 Friday at 10:05 by three masked men. Three suspects were later captured and nearly the entire amount stolen recovered by alert FBI agents and state police officers.
At extreme left is Harry Williams, Carlton resident, who was shoved aside by the trio of robbers as he started to enter the bank just as the holdup was taking place. He said one of the men was armed and they removed their masks as they rushed into their car parked in front of the bank with its engine running.
