1939-3-2, Tragedy Ends a Quarrel on Chehalem Mountain,
"Lynn D. Warden, Buck Heaven rancher, took his life with a shotgun on the front porch of his mountain cabin after a family quarrel Tuesday with Ward McMaugh, his stepson, and Mrs. Grace Warden, his wife, State Police Officer Al Johnson reads a letter in which Warden ordered McMaugh to leave his home while Deputy Sheriff Harold Messinger examines the blood-stained bed where McMaugh lay after he said Warden fired a gun at him. Deputy Messinger looks over a piece of the broken stock of Warden's gun which was broken in the earlier stages of the fight that made the living room the shambles"
