Ed Laird receives gift from friends and fellow workers at retirement dinner Friday. John Van Calcar, of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation service presents the gift to Laird, who retired Friday after over 34 years of civil service. Laird, who lives in Carlton, has been with the local Soil Conservation Service office since 1953. Sixteen persons attended the informal affair.
