Grant Jones receives a check recently from Rotary Club Community Service chairman James Brown, left, while director Kurt Flossman looks on. Club along with eight other local service organizations, presented Jones a check for $714.13 in recognition of his “courageous spirit in overcoming" his handicap due to an auto accident about six years ago which left him in a paraplegic condition. He was graduated from Linfield College this year and plans to get married this summer. Clubs participating included the DO Chapter of P.E.O., The Gamma Lambda Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, The Kiwanis Club, The Lions Club, The McMinnville Women's Club, the Session of the First United Presbyterian Church, The Soroptimist Club and The Walnut City Kiwanis Club.
