Well-Known Mailman Retiring After 33 Years Of Mac Service
Mailmen are usually an easygoing, friendly lot. the dependable bearers of good news as well as bad who enable us to communicate with the outside world. Because of this, many people build an attachment to their postman akin to a good loyal friend that can be counted on to cheer one’s day. Postal employee Leon Beal, retiring Friday after 33 years of service in McMinnville, is no exception. Beal has many friends collected over the past years who will be honoring him at a retirement banquet Thursday evening at Oriental Gardens restaurant. “Leon has been an excellent employee,” Postmaster Robert Ballard said. “l’ve received many comments from residents on his pleasant manner and he’s been very cooperative at work.” Ballard will be presenting a plaque and gift to Beal at the public dinner which starts at 7 p.m.
