News Register Sports Editor Charlene White looks at fawn held by State Game Officer Don
Roberts, who has issued advice to local residents regarding the young deer. Fawns are often seen at side of road at this time of the year and many persons pick up the animals, only to return them to the state game farm in a few weeks because they become mean, Roberts said. He advised persons to look at them all they want, but unless they know the mother is dead to leave them alone. The state police should be called immediately if a fawn is found and it is known the mother deer is dead.
