State Game Commission employee Greg Hattan releases a covey of Bamboo Partridge near Carlton. The birds are slightly larger than Valley Quail, have the same habitat of the South Coast of China. These particular birds have been on the E.E. Wilson Game Farm near Corvallis and are quite tame. They will be the nucleus of what the game commission hopes will become a sizeable population. Hattan said others have been released near Coquille and in other areas west of the Cascades and appear to be doing well.
