Workmen Monday start to clear railroad track at Carlton, site of nine car derailment Sunday
evening. Southern Pacific spokesman said no one was injured in accident, caused when axle
of fourth car behind engine burned off. Train, pulling 29 cars, was headed for Eugene from Portland and was traveling about 30 miles per hour. Damage estimates were not available.
About 300 feet of track will have to be replaced, which was to be completed this week. Two of eight cars which turned over were loaded.
