This panoramic view by News-Register managing editor William Bladine shows the new McMinnville high school baseball diamond, located behind the high school between east 15th and 18th streets. This shot was taken in center field, looking towards 19th street. The new diamond was laid out two years ago by city recreational director Bob Collins and McMinnville high baseball coach Loyal Rich. Last year it was used by the junior high during the spring and by the Pygmies during the summer. The Grizzlies will play their first home game on the new layout Thursday afternoon, hosting Tigard. Friday the Bears are at home to Lake Oswego. Both games are scheduled for 3:30.
