Tuberculin Test -- Yamhill County Health Officer Dr. Elton Kessel (center) watches as County Judge R. E. Renne receives a tuberculin skin test from county nurse Lilyan Keene. He said that this test is gradually replacing the use of X-rays in checking for tuberculosis because it "can tell us more and is cheaper." He pointed out that only persons showing a "positive" reaction in the test need X-rays and only those who have had the TB bug or have an active case show a positive reaction.
