Construction of the new Bethel Baptist Church on Baker Creek Road is scheduled to be completed before the end of this year. Church volunteers have helped two nights a week on the new building, estimate at $120,000. The church's present church at 8th and Ford streets may be bought by the Yamhill County Historical Society. It is one of the oldest buildings in the city. Jack Squires Construction company of McMinnville contracted installation of the drain ditch which was completed last week. General Contractor is Verlin Post of Lebanon.
