9-21-1968 Future City Water Needs Supplied By Nearly-Completed Dam
Compaction of earth depends greatly on weather as soil has to have right moisture content. In background is road used to bring rock from above site. Height of dam will be about 20 feet above shown height. In foreground is tip of Morning Glory Spillway used in siphoning of overflow of reservoir. Men had been working 6 days a week, 10 hours a day until recent rains slowed construction. There are only five or six days of work remaining to “peak out” the dam if weather clears up.
