Recognized as the outstanding social science student at McMinnville High School at an awards assembly recently is Melvin Oleson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Olson of McMinnville. Oleson receives the plaque, sponsored by Pi Gamma Mu, National Social Service Honorary, from Dr. Harold C. Elkinton, Linfield College professor and Chancellor of the Northwest Region of Pi Gamma Mu.
