First place award plaque to The News Register for the National Association 1968 Better Newspaper Contest community Service division is admired by Mrs. Barbara Jelinek, Managing Editor William L. Bladine and Advertising Director Homer Rohse. Mrs. Jelinek authored the 1967 “What Price Victory?” series in mental health which brought the McMinnville publication the nations top recognition in the Community Service division.
