Getting ready to head back to the fire station, McMinnville volunteer firemen get hose back aboard one of the engines after answering a 7:45 a.m. general alarm Tuesday at the Chester A. Lamb home at 714 Washington street. Mrs. Lamb said a box of clothes sitting on the basement floor was discovered burning after the family noticed smoke. She had no idea how the fire could have started. Handling the hose (l-r) are Bob Morton, Lloyd Curtis and Waldo Farnham.
