November 13, 1957br/Well dressed McMinnville Hi-Y Club members stride briskly down the high schoolrsquo;s hall to attend Thursdayrsquo;s assembly. The Hi-Yrsquo;s auctioned ties of famous personalities to the assembled student body. Proceeds were donated to the YMCA World Service project. Before the auction, Tom Buckley, left, Mike Mattecheck and Mike McPhillips looked like Poison-Oak leaguers. They report that Don Milton of McMinnville donated the tie which brought highest bid -- $8.50. Hotly contested for was Coach Don Mabee's neckwear. Fellows going steady were heard to bid weakly for ties of their girlrsquo;s father -- they were obligated, they said. Mayor Terry Shrunk of Portland and baseball dynamo Ted Willaims donated ties for the Hi-Y annual event.
