May 6, 1957br/Members of the First Conservative Baptist church gather near an excavation where a new church auditorium will be built on Eighth street at Ford street, next to the existing church building. Dedication ceremonies were held Sunday in Preparation to construction. The new building will be approximately 50 by 35 feet and will cost an estimated $20,000, utilizing labor donated by members of the congregation. The building will feature modern church architecture, using open beamed ceilings with laminated arches. It will be the first of three buildings constructed at the site and eventually will replace the present church.
