January 26, 1957br/Preparing for the McMinnville High School winter band concert, Rafael Mendez, guest artist, works with members of the band. Mendez, who is acclaimed as ldquo;the world's greatest trumpet playerquot; rehearsed with the band Friday and Saturday for the presentation Saturday night in the school gymnasium. Also featured on the program will be the premier presentation of a rhapsody composed by Dick Bantsari, a high school student and member of the band. The program will begin at 8 p.m. Mendel is shown giving special attention to three members of the trumpet section, from the left, Steve Spiller, Bill Sterett and David Crow.
