November 15, 1957br/Lafayette -- Bronze Star for bravery during the Battle of the Rhine in 1945 is pinned on Richard E. Jewell by Norman Hapel, commander of American Legion district 2. Jewell continued to man a machine gun even though both of his legs had been broken. Presentation was made at Veterans Day observance here.
