Loyd C. Fleming, left, Pacific Coast Director of the Maritime Administration, Department of Commerce, presents a framed photograph of the SS Linfield Victory to Dr. Harry Dillin, president of Linfield College. In making the presentation, Fleming told the students they have an opportunity to indicate willingness to sponsor the ship named after the local school by establishing a library fund to keep the ship supplied with suitable books and literature for use by officers and crew.
