Soaked to a waffle batter consistency, this bank beside highway 47 about half a mile north of the Carlton-McMinnville road junction with highway 99W was giving motorists more trouble than the picture shows this morning. Highway department equipment was keeping roadway open but the drainage of slick mud along the slope made driving precarious.
