Four of the women students in this class may become future swimming teachers at the new swimming pools in McMinnville and lifeguards may be two men students. The class held at Linfield College and conducted by Tye Steinbach, pool manager, is a Red Cross water safety instruction course. Students must complete more than 30 hours of classwork during the course. Other phases of the instructions will be given at the new pool when it is completed. Graduates will be qualified lifeguards and swimming instructors. Steinbach expects to choose four members of the class to help with instruction at the new pool and two others for lifeguards. Two more lifeguards will be needed during the summer.
