HISTORIC PINE TREE FELLED—This pine tree, long a prominent landmark swaying high above Baker street, is well remembered by the older members of the community who recall it‘s planting many years ago. The tall tree presented a number of difficulties in falling because of its proximity to a group of houses along the busy street. It was first denuded of its branches, then topped. Wednesday the job was completed when it was brought to earth in small sections. The tree stood on the property of R. B. Shown, 840 Baker street, who said he had the tree removed to prevent possible damage. Workmen are shown above as they removed its branches before falling.
