1943-03-11 Louis Courtemanche Jr. presents Salvage penant

1943-03-11, Victory Salvage Pennant to Fly From County Courthouse Tower, "Louis A. Courtemanche Jr., chairman of the Yamhill county salvage committee, this week presented the official war production board Victory Salvage pennant to members of the county court. The flag will be flown from the courthouse tower. The WPB pennant was awarded to counties harvesting more than 100 pounds of scrap metal per person last fall. The county's quota was 5,200,000 pounds, which was exceeded by 575 tons, or a total of 1,013 pounds per capita. Pictured are Commissioner Charles R. Newman, Courtemanche, Judge Hervey H. Hoskins and Commissioner Homer Ross. At present citizens are busy gathering tin cans in a county-wide drive."
