DRESSED TO SELL, not kill, was the situation in McMinnville Saturday as a platoon of nattily-dressed auto dealers and salesmen marched escort for Mary Vinton, 1958 Miss Oregon, and a parade of 1959 automobiles through McMinnville’s business district. The sales brigade, spearheading the program of McMinnville Auto Days, May 2 to May 23, showed off nearly 100 new automobiles to hundreds of area residents who braved threatening weather Friday night and Saturday to participate in opening ceremonies of the community-wide promotion. Dealers, reported much interest in new cars on the city parking lot on Second behind Evans and Davis, the largest mass car showing in the city’s history. Next event in the big promotion, which has included opening of most retail stores on Friday evening, will be another car showingand drawing for hundreds of dollars in prizes Friday May 6, and joining of the auto parade with the college-city Centennial parade Saturday.
