L.F. Henshaw, general contractor for construction of the new swimming pools in McMinnville, places a memorial plaque near the entrance of the new pool buildings. The plaque was a gift to the city from Henshaw. The plaque reads, “McMinnville Pools, Dedicated to youth...our future strength. Erected by the city assisted by Ralph and Frank Wortman in memory of their pioneer parents. Erected 1956.” Henshaw, among numerous individuals and organizations who made gifts to the pool, also donated a clock for the indoor pool and a microphone for the outdoor pool.
