1938-1-8, Salmon River Death
Shown here are the battered remains of the car that carried four known persons and possibly a fifth, to their death in Salmon River near Rose Lodge the day after Christmas. The insert shows the body of Ralph Easter, one of the victims, found about a quarter-mile downstream from the car. The car itself, which plunged into the rain-swollen waters of the river, was carried a quarter-mile downstream from the point at which it swept over the bank from the road into the river. The wrecked car was discovered after the high water had receded. Another body, that of seven-year-old Roger Logan, was found a mile downstream from the car.
