"Death hovered over Yamhill county highways last weekend and struck swiftly on the Sheriday McMinnville highway in the night Sunday to take the life of Dorothy May Phillips, 43, Portland. Her crushed body (above) lies on the roadway as State Police Sergeant Ralph Grenfell investigates the accident. The Phillips car and one driven by Eric Williams, Portland, are shown (left) interlocked after the crash. The wrecked car, in which Jack Huchinson, 30, Carlton, received a fractured back, is pictured (bottom) after it overturned south of Lafayette later the same night."
