1957-3-11 9467 Stubborn Blaze Razes Second Floor, of Carlton Building Early Sundaybr/br/ Carlton- The second floor of this brick building was gutted by fire early Sunday after a blaze started near an open elevator shaft and spread to the roof. Built in 1903, it is believed to be the first brick building in Carlton. Barney Roscoe, a McMinnville fireman, fell through the open elevator shaft, with only minor injuries. Another fireman later fell through the opening but caught himself before he fell.
