Carlton Meat Firm Opens Modern Plant
First load of cattle for processing at the Booth Meat company is unloaded at the firm’s new building a mile west of Carlton. The 14 White Face steers are the first to be placed in the new corralls with concrete runways. The plant recently completed has incorporated many modern features including an electric hoist and power saw. The concrete block building also has two spacious coolers with a capacity of about 40 head of beef. Owner and operator of the business is Robert Booth who formerly conducted business east of Carlton. Unloading the cattle are Roger Dumdl of Yamhill and George Stermer of Carlton.
