Dark, dank and unsanitary is this corner of the old-fashioned cell-block where the only available drinking water supply is within three feet of the latrine. These are the only toilet facilities in the jail, providing absolutely no segregation for prisoners suffering from social or other contagious diseases. As a remedy to these crying needs, a special county committee proposes a new jail, funds for which would be raised by a raised by a special one mill tax levy to be offered voters at the May election.
