1940-2-15, Young Hostesses Entertain at Gala Valentine Dance "Hearts and flowers" held full sway Saturday evening in the Chamber of Commerce club rooms as 125 of McMinnville's younger set toasted cupid at a Valentine dance as guests of the Misses Carol Neuner, Connie Fullmer and Joan Mead.
Patrons and patronesses of the dance were the young hostesses' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pierre Mead, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Fullmer and Mr. and Mrs. George Neuner.
Feature of the dance was a prize waltz, with the girls leading their escorts. Miss Donna Rae Potts and Norman Happel came out on top in the competition.
At 11:30 balloon decorations, which had been suspended from the ceiling, were released to float down as favors among the dancers.
