1940-4 Vermilyea & byerley jersey's-2
1940-4-9,
"From Imported Parents" This aristocrat of Jerseydom is Rush's Dreamer (405932), one of the sires in service in the herd of David H. Byerley, Amity dairyman and Jersey breeder. The young bull was sired by Rush's Fern Oxford Junior, which also sired the first place cow on the Isle of Jersey last year, two first prize animals at the National show, and many lesser winners. Rush's Fern Oxford Junior is now owned by a British Columbia breeder, and cost over $12,000 on the Isle of Jersey before being imported. Dam of the Byerley sire was Dreaming False Fire, imported in 1937 after having been bred with the prize Island bull. The dam was sold recently for $15,000. So far as Mr. Byerley knows, Rush's Dreamer is the only bull of this combination of breeding in all the western states. It has been in service with the Byerley hers for the past year and a half."
