Last remaining members of McMinnville’s early day hook and ladder and hand pumper fire department were honored at a fire hall dinner and program Wednesday evening. Gathered together after the program were, from left: Roy Fink, who joined in 1902 and served as assistant chief in 1918; Claude Brower, who joined in 1907 and was foreman of the hook and ladder department; Frank Grant, who joined in 1904 and was a member of the Star Hose Co.; Ralph Wortman, who became a member in 1902 and served as treasurer of the department for many years; Jess Irvine, oldest living former chief who became a member in 1895 and chief in 1902. Chief Ivan Pearson; Ed Esley, a member in 1908 and foreman of the hook and ladder company, and Frank Wortman, who became a member of the department in 1902 at the same time as his brother, Ralph.
