Operator of this mobile crane escaped injury earlier in the week when the huge boom buckled and fell, crushing the operator's compartment. The accident occurred at the south end of the McMinnville bypass project now under construction. The machine, which was being moved out of the heavy mud caused by recent rains, dropped into a hole causing the boom to collapse.
