March 25, 1957br/Done to a golden brown are these chickens in an electric barbeque oven at McMinnville Meat Company at 431 Third Street as owner Bill Risseeuw prepares to cook more. The oven was installed recently at a cost of nearly $1000 and was put into use for the first time Saturday. The only one of its kind in McMinnville, the barbeque will prepare 36 two-pound chickens at one time utilizing heat lamps which cook without shrinking the birds. Turkeys, hams and spareribs also will be barbequed when additional equipment is obtained, Risseeuw installed the oven to offer cooked meats to customers at a slight additional cost.
