Sawyer (right), rode in the antique automobile to an informal businessmen's reception Saturday afternoon in downtown McMinnville. other governors to ride in Wortman's automobile were Dewey of New York, Stassen of Minnesota, Paterson of Oregon, Russel of Nevada and Warren of California. Gov. Sawyer attended Linfield his freshman and sophomore years, 1937-39, and was freshman class president and manager of the sophomore class.
