1950-2-9, 'Tain't Legal---But It Stays, "Ma Jenkins' popcorn wagon will continue to serve the youth and adults of McMinnville at the same old stand during the coming year. A five-to-nothing city council vote Tuesday night reversed a previous decision that the popcorn wagon was using the public streets for private enterprise and must go at the end of six months.
The wagon, located at the end of Third and Evans street since 1930, has dispensed popcorn to a large share of the city's adults and kids alike over the past two decades. And word that the popcorn wagon was to go aroused a howl of protest which echoed from one end of the Walnut City to the other. "
