McMinnville Citizens gather on the lawn of the Yamhill county courthouse as services are conducted on observation of Veteran’s Day. Sponsored by the Walnut City post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the McMinnville post, American Legion, the program included a prayer by the Rev. A. H. MacDonnell, St. Barnabas Episcopal church; a tribute to the Spanish War veterans by Dr. E.W. Hoffman; a tribute to World War I Veterans by Cliff Maynard, commander of the McMinnville barracks, WWI Veterans; and tributes by the Rev. S. J. Osborne, commander of McMinnville Legion post and J. J. Wederski, commander of the VFW post, and a tribute to Korean veterans by Phil LaVoie. Father James P. Heade of St. James Catholic church gave an address and Ace Gregg of Carlton, VFW district commander, was in charge of ceremonies.
