Level Going Down -- Removal of top levels of Lafayette Dam being carried out by Yamhill County in an effort to comply with the demands of the state fish commission that the dam allow access for fish traveling upstream. County workmen began Saturday to remove timbers and rocks to bring the structure down. Enough of the dam will remain to keep water backed up in a pool which will still furnish irrigation water for farms along the river.
