1937-5-6 & 13_Whiteson Bridge-6
The Whiteson bridge collapsed May 1, 1937. The 140-foot steel span dropped 30 feet into the South Yamhill River while a truck and semi-trailer with a power shovel were on it. Herbert Benham, driver of the truck, escaped with minor injuries.
