Wards Opens New Department Store
Ribbon Cutting at the completely redecorated Montgomery Wards store in McMinnville Friday drew McMinnville civic and Wards officials for the ceremony. Ready to cut the ribbon so several hundred shoppers outside of the new store can pass through is McMinnville Mayor L. F. Ramsey (center). Holding the ribbon (left to right) are outgoing Chamber of Commerce president Merrill Hagan, H.W. Willsey, district general manager of Wards northwest district, Mayor Ramsey, Virgil R. Hicks, McMinnville store manager and Gale Vinton, one of the owners of the Third and Baker streets building occupied by the Wards store.
