Two of the top winners in the poster contest annually sponsored during Fire Prevention Week by the McMinnville Fire Department and the local Jaycees are shown with Fire Captain Jan Fox. Carol Young (right), a 4th grader at the Seventh Day Adventist School, and Debbie Nystrom, a 2nd grader there, were awarded their prize rides to and from school one day this week in the big fire truck on which they are standing. The fire department is sponsoring an open house Saturday at the conclusion of fire prevention week.
