Fire fighting tools and methods were explained to various groups of 6th graders by McMinnville Fire Chief Jerry Smith during the annual Yamhill County School Forestry Tour conducted last week at the Ross Cruickshank farm near McMinnville. Some 750 6th graders from throughout the county toured the tree farm and were given information on various aspects of tree farming, wildlife, forest products and soil and fire control.
