PROPOSED LOCATION of a Bureau of Land Management timber access roadway across the Alex Cruickshank ranch on upper Willamina River is discussed by Otto Kruger, Salem BLM office manager, (second from right) during a Wednesday afternoon inspection of the area The group is standing on a river level roadway which Cruickshank has urged be used and which Kruger said would not be satisfactory for the 100-year road the government agency proposes. Among a group of some 25 local officials and neighbors who discussed the disputed project with Kruger were (I-r) Harley Mishler, Willamina area rancher, Elmer Olson, McMinnville, Cruickshank and Guy Shumway, former Yamhill County Commissioner.
