1949-2 High Water 3.jpeg
February 17, 1949
Swollen waters of the Yamhill river reach high on the trusses of the Dayton bridge at the southeast McMinnville city limits as pounding rains melted low-lying snows in the coast range to push the Yamhill and its tributaries to the highest mark in years. Area in the foreground is seldom covered with water at this season of the year and few remember it reaching as high on the bridge trusses as this photo shows it. The area in the foreground is covered with backwaters from the Willamette.
