Great Dayton Robbery Features Pony Express Mail Trip In Yamhill County

BOOTS, SADDLE, TO HORSE and away is a Pony Express rider from the 99 Wranglers club in Dayton who prepares to carry the mail pouch on one leg of its journey from Portland to Ashland. Howard Paris (light coat) hands the mail bag to the rider while his pistol-packing companion, Les Leach. lends a hand. Stretched on the grass is Puffy Carroll, a victim of the mock gun battle that ensued before the mail could be sent on its way.
