Jaycees Aid Air Watch System

Cooperating with the Western Air Defense command, the newly-formed McMinnville Junior Chamber of Commerce is shown setting up a new ground observer post at 17th and Galloway streets in McMinnville. Jaycees used a VKV Lumber company lift truck to place this big milk truck van body on foundations Saturday. Windows will be cut into the body, utilities installed, and the building will be painted. Setting up the post will reactivate the long-dormant ground observer corps in this area. Razing of the courthouse tower, former site of the post, eliminated a spot for the observers and interest lagged.
