Yamhill County Park Commission Formally Organized Here Monday
Problems of providing future recreational areas for Yamhill county citizens and salvage of vital Lafayette locks and dam for irrigation of some 1800 acres of rich Yamhill county farm land received serious attention Monday afternoon after formal organization of Yamhill county’s first park commission. The group, seated around the conference table in county court rooms, are: H.A. Parrett, Willamina, chairman; J. Stuart Grenfell, McMinnville, Commissioner A. W. Youngberg; Judge R. E. Renne; Commissioner Charles Newman; Gordon Haines, Carlton, vice-chairman; Royal Cochran, secretary, and Lawrence Sohrweid, Rt. 1, McMinnville, head of the proposed irrigationalist’s committee. Commission member Dave Saucy, Dundee, was unable to be present at the meeting.
