May 2, 1957br/Old Glory is raised over city park for the first time during a Loyalty Day dedication of a new flag pole near the public library. Pole was presented to the city by James J. Wederski, commander of the Walnut City post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was accepted by J.A. Jonasson, president of the city council. Here, Jonasson and Wederski raise the flag on the new pole. A prayer was given by the Rev C.C. Barnes during the ceremony. At rear is the VFW color guard.
